NEW NYAMIRA GOVERNOR SWORN IN.

Amos Nyaribo has been sworn in as the new Nyamira County Governor. He takes over from the late John Nyagarama.

He was sworn in at Nyamira Primary School in a ceremony graced by leaders from across the country, including Council of Governors Chairperson Wycliffe Oparanya.

Nyaribo, who previously served as a Deputy Governor, was sworn in at the same school where he and Nyagarama took their oath of office following their win in the 2013 general election and their reelection in 2017.

The new governor will be required to present a nominee for the position of deputy governor  within 10 days of his swearing-in. The nominee upon successful vetting will assume office as Nyamira County DG.

Reports in the recent past had indicated that Nyaribo’s working relationship with the late governor had not always been rosy. This included court battles between them.

The new county boss had one time accused Nyagarama of failing to honour pre-election pacts.

The former deputy governor was a strong champion for the auditing of the staff report, alleging that the county was losing funds to ghost workers on the county’s payroll.
