Tuju kicks Ruto out of Jubilee

BBI was meant to unite ODM and Jubilee but it seems we need it more to unite Jubilee members amongst themselves. The divisions have been made clear today as DP Ruto has been barred from accessing Jubilee Headquarters.

This came after DP Ruto chaired a meeting attended by over 30 MPs at Jubilee Centre. The meeting took place at a time when the president is on an official duty in France. Tuju today termed that as a coup and barred Ruto from setting foot in the building.

Tuju said that some of the members in attendance had attacked the person of Mama Ngina using vile and vulgar words. In subsequent references to these utterances, Ruto did not rebuke the said members or show any act of contrition.

Tuju also refered to Ruto’s disrespect to Msambweni by elections to be held on 15th December. He said that the party had made a decision not to field any candidate in the spirit of handshake. Tuju said he was perplexed to see Ruto storm into the building to offer dissenting views. Even after saying he will tow the party line, Ruto went ahead to show support for an independent candidate.

The DP did not attend the state Covid-19 conference. His seat remained empty throughout the meeting. He was sloted to make remarks and according to State Protocol, invite the President to address the conference. Tuju says it’s a travesty that instead of Ruto attending the conference or giving a plausible explanation, his allies posted unwarranted remarks and attacks on Twitter.

To avoid the party became a centre of theatrics and conflict, Tuju has said that Ruto will be barred from using the Party Headquarters as his campaign centre. The NMC has recommended to NEC that DP Ruto ceases to be Deputy Party Leader and he take his campaigns to Jubilee Asili Center.
