Women should be independent! Singer Wahu advises ladies against begging money from lovers

Kenyan musician Wahu on Thursday September 3rd shared an Instagram post advising women to strive for financial independence. Wahu said that women should not rely on their husbands or boyfriends to provide for them.

The famous musician emphasized that women should make it a habit of getting their own money and not to rely on their partners.
She also emphasized that the fact that women should be asking for money from men is not an issue but she believes that they should strive to have their own instead of burdening their partners.

On her post she also said that women should save to avoid the dependency syndrome. As it is also embarrassing to keep asking for money from your lovers.

”My sister are we together? Now, let us talk about money. You cannot be asking for money to buy credit from your man everyday, weave and other stuff. You must have your own money. You must have your own bank account with money. You need to get the knowledge on how to save your own money. You should not be begging,” Wahu said in the video.

This brought some mixed reactions from her fans, some supported her sentiments and said that women should indeed strive to be independent while others stated that men should always provide for their women.
