Gideon Moi Sends Emotional Plea to Ruto

Gideon Kipsielei Moi, the Chairman of the Kenya African National Union (KANU) and former Baringo County Senator, currently holds a prominent position in Kenyan politics.

Son of the late President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, he played a significant role in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition during the last general elections, endorsing former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga due to his longstanding friendship and close ties with former President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.

Beyond his political engagements, Gideon Moi, known for his leadership and advocacy for the common man, has recently raised his voice on the alarming increase in femicide cases in Kenya.

Expressing concern over the brutal murders of women, often linked to romantic relationships, he condemned the acts and called upon the state, led by President William Samoei Ruto, to swiftly intervene and defend women across the country.

Moi’s remarks follow closely after the shocking murders of Starlet Wahu, sister to renowned televangelist Victor Kanyari, and Rita Waeni in Roysambu, Nairobi.

Emphasizing the distressing trend, Moi highlighted that many of these heinous crimes are perpetrated by intimate partners, individuals who should be protectors of the women they are associated with.

The KANU Chairman’s call for decisive action reflects a broader concern for the safety and well-being of women in the face of increasing violence. His appeal to President Ruto’s administration underscores the need for a swift and comprehensive response to address the root causes of these tragic incidents.
