Ruto’s Car Nearly Rolled After Tire Burst

Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi has claimed that President William Ruto’s car faced a potential rollover on the Embu-Meru Highway due to a burst tire, emphasizing the poor road conditions during Ruto’s 3-day working tour.

Expressing concern for the President’s safety, Kathuri issued an ultimatum to Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) for urgent road repairs and urged the Director General to assess projects in Meru, Tharaka Nithi, and Embu Counties.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Kathuri questioned the safety of citizens if the President himself faced danger on the roads.

He emphasized the potential risks, especially considering the speed of the Presidential motorcade. The Senator acknowledged that the uphill movement at the time saved Ruto from a more severe incident.

Kathuri criticized the state of roads in Meru County, accusing KeNHA of negligence despite receiving funding for road construction and maintenance.

He alleged that KeNHA officials might have embezzled funds through illegal tender awards, leading to slow infrastructure development. However, these allegations could not be independently verified by Kenyans.co.ke.

Emphasizing taxpayers’ concerns, Kathuri threatened accountability, stating that officials must explain their actions if roads are not adequately maintained.

Neither the Office of the President nor KeNHA responded to the Senator’s allegations. Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam https://challyhnews.co.ke/wp/2021/08/08/medical-courses-you-can-do-with-a-d-and-d-plain-grade/ was unaware of the incident.
