Uhuru Makes a Secret Move That Has Left Kenyans Suprised

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has ended his New Year’s silence by extending congratulations to Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshikedi on securing his re-election for a second term.

Kenyatta, now serving as the African Union and East Africa Community facilitator for Peace in the DRC, emphasized the need for Tshikedi to serve both those who elected him and those who did not.

Through his office’s social media, he urged the Congolese government to prioritize restoring peace and stability in the country, emphasizing the impact on socio-economic stability in the region.

In a statement, President Kenyatta, also the Facilitator of the EAC-led Nairobi Peace Process, expressed his congratulations to President Tshikedi for his successful re-election by the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This recognition reinforces Kenyatta’s commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region, aligning with his role as a facilitator.

However, the acknowledgment comes after an incident on New Year’s Eve when false information circulated on various social media platforms, claiming that Kenyatta had already congratulated President Tshikedi. Swiftly, Kenyatta took to his social media to dispel these rumors, labeling them as fake news.

This highlights the importance of verifying information before dissemination and the potential consequences of misinformation in the digital age.

President Kenyatta’s involvement in peace efforts extends beyond social media statements. He has been actively organizing high-ranking meetings in both Nairobi and Kinshasa, aimed at brokering a deal between conflicting groups within the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This signifies a hands-on approach to conflict resolution and underlines his dedication to promoting stability in the region.
