Govt Makes Huge Changes on CBC

The Government through the ministry of education has renamed Junior Secondary Schools JSS in the country as the Comprehensive institutions.

This has been announced by the Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary, CS Ezekiel Machogu during the opening of the 2023 Kenya Primary School Head Teachers Association KEPSHA.

Also, according to the education cabinet secretary, Primary School Head teachers will be designated and take over as Principals and they will be entrusted with the administration of education in the New branded Comprehensive institutions.

Moreover, According to Education cabinet secretary CS Ezekiel Machogu, students in Comprehensive School will receive a capitation of Sh15, 000 per year. While those learners in Senior day secondary schools will receive Ksh. 22,000 capitation every year.

CS assured parents that there would be no school fees Increment in 2024 academic year for senior secondary schools. The current fees payment structures will be maintained.

According to the trusted source of information, the basic education PS Dr. Belio Kipsang, while addressing the same in the same congratulation in the same meeting with education CS said that the primary schools headteachers will be repositioned into new job groups and salary scales in Comprehensive Schools.

Nevertheless, The national chairman of KEPSHA Mr. Johnson Nzioka, has urged primary school headteachers to promptly update school signboards to reflect the new designation of Comprehensive Schools.
