Orengo in Trouble as Plans to Dissolve Siaya County Emerges

The Siaya County government risks being dissolved by president William Ruto of the latest allegations by a civil society group us proved.

According to Shirleen Adhiambo Otieno of the Muungano Network, the county of Siaya is dysfunctional and should be dissolved effective immediately.

Adhiambo is clear that, despite the ongoing supremacy wars between Orengo and his deputy William Oduor, the CECs have also colluded with MCAs to steal public money. This is through tender deals so that some of the CECs are not impeached over incompetence.

Governor James Orengo has also been accused of corruption and failure to initiate a single development agenda since his assumption of office as president.

It’s worth noting that, corruption has been very immense in Siaya and there seems to have no solution.

The fact of the matter is that, if MCAs continue fighting, then president William Ruto might be forced to dissolve the county. The same issue is likely to happen in Meru County where MCAs and the governor are fighting over county resources.
