Mwaura Makes a Huge Blunder as Govt Spokesperson

Thirdway Alliance Party Leader and lawyer, Ekuru Aukot, strongly criticized Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura today for what he labeled as spreading false information regarding his legal petition against the government’s plan to send police to Haiti.

In an official statement, Aukot raised concerns about remarks made by the government spokesperson during an interview.

Mwaura had asserted that he contacted Aukot to inquire about the reasons behind Aukot’s court action to halt the deployment, which had subsequently been temporarily suspended by the High Court.

Aukot directly refuted this claim, stating, ”Cease the deception. You falsely asserted that you communicated with me regarding the Haiti petition. Why do you engage in such falsehoods?”

During the interview, Isaac Mwaura had also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to adhering to all legal prerequisites before dispatching police forces to the Caribbean nation.

‘As you may be aware, there is a court order that has been issued because of my good brother Ekuru Aukot whom I spoke to before I came here because I wanted to understand why he went to court and clearly there is something we need to explain to us all as Kenyans” Mwaura said during the interview.

Mwaura took cue from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and intimated that the government will seek approval from both houses of Parliament before deploying police to Haiti.

”Deployment is a process because there has to be a ratification to the request,” Mwaura said.

This comes after The High Court on October 9, issued conservatory orders blocking the government from deploying police officers to Haiti or any other country until the case is heard on October 24.
