High Court Asked to Stop Bomas Talk After New Information Surfaced

The High Court of Kenya has been asked to issue orders against the ongoing bipartisan talk at Bomas over breach of the Constitution.

According to 3 petitioners, they want court to certify their application as urgent and nullify the Ruto-Raila talks.

In their prayers, the petitioners want the court to stop the National Dialogue Committee from considering issues for the amendment of the Constitution.

The petitioners went to court on Thursday when call for audit of 2022 election and boundaries review took the centre stage.

Ex-IEBC commissioners who appeared before the dialogue committee agreed on the need to audit election.

Former Attorney General Githu Muigai in his submission called for the need to scrap at least 67 constituencies.

The former AG also said that the counties need to be reduced and not increased because the cost involved is too high.

Other amendments of the Constitution to be considered by the committee is the establishment of Office of Opposition and inclusion of Prime Minister post in the constitution.
