Radio Maisha Goes Off Air

Popular radio station Radio Maisha on Tuesday announced it was off-air in Nairobi County and its environs.

In a statement, the radio station explained that it went off air due to some technical difficulties that they did not specify.

“We are looking to resolve this as soon as possible,” read part of the statement.

The Standard Group-owned station has apologised for the inconvenience caused by the hitch.

The station’s fans in social media posts asked for the issue to be resolved promptly. 

The Mombasa-road based station is one of the most popular radio stations in the country. 

Listeners from other regions like Kisii, Baringo, Kericho, and Mombasa also reported that the signal had gone off. 

Radio Maisha is part of the Standard Media group and is among the many radio stations under the media house. Others include Spice FM and Vybez Radio.

It was established in 2010 as a Kiswahili station and touches on news, entertainment, and current affairs.In 2018, Radio Maisha was voted as the Favorite Radio Station under the People’s Choice Category in the KUZA Awards.

The Head of Radio, Tom Jappani has over 18 years of radio experience including 10 years at Swahili BBC.
