Ruto Finally Admits to Mistakes of His Government

President William Ruto has announced a fight against corruption in government, stressing that bribery, including among ministers, will not be tolerated.

Mr Ruto said he did not accept scandals among ministers and he urged ministers not to engage in transactions that could lead to such scandals.

His communications with the ministerial secretary involved in the scandal were inappropriate, he claimed.

The president said he was in talks with the ministries and agencies and would update the secretary-general and the administration on the situation.

Mr. Ruto strongly stated that this money should only be used for services to Kenyans and that government employees should not be allowed to receive this money. “I have been in good faith contact with the government and would like to see the same response from the general secretary to the directors.” This is not typical. “I promised Kenyans that I would not steal money. The funds exist only to fulfill government programs, projects and the aspirations of Kenyans,” he told The Standard.

He also confessed that Kenyans are losing trust in his government as a result of CSs making promises but failing to keep them.

Ruto said this would not be tolerated, acknowledged it had tarnished the leader’s reputation among Kenyans, and vowed to put an end to it.

“We can’t wait to see where this path takes us, because it’s already leading us to bad places.” It’s time to end it once and for all,” he added.
