Last Message Kiambu Groom Sent Before Death on Wedding Eve

A family from Kiambu is mourning its kin who was found dead in his house on the eve of his wedding. The deceased was set to wed on Saturday, August 26, at a local church in Kahawa Sukari, but the plans were cut short by his mysterious demise. It was, however, not yet clear whether the bridegroom was murdered or died by suicide, as reports indicated that he was found dead without any suicide notes or other incriminating evidence.

However, a text message he sent to his sister before his demise fueled more speculation in the case. According to reports, the young man had earlier contacted his sister to inform her that his life was in danger.

According to Mwangi Muthiora, a communication strategist and activist who first broke the news, the deceased pointed fingers at an undisclosed person who may be responsible for his demise.

Allegedly, the bridegroom tasked his sister with investigating the unidentified person if any unexpected yet tragic incident were to occur to him.

On the said day, according to Muthiora, the groom was out with the best couple, who allegedly dropped him off at night.

He was later found dead in his house with foam in his mouth. His house had been locked, and keys were thrown on his mother’s balcony. His car was also in the parking lot.

However, his body was not discovered until his close friends and family raised the alarm that his phone was unreachable prior to a meeting he had organised but failed to attend.

“That’s when one of the church members said something was not right and suggested they drive home and check him in his house. They drove back in a convoy, and they found him dead. No suicide notes, no evidence of tablets or anything that could suggest he ingested poison, nothing,” read part of activist Muthiora’s report.

The mother was shocked as she thought her son was in church only to find his lifeless body in the house.

A section of Kenyans who learnt of his plight sympathised with his fiancee since the duo was counting down the hours to their wedding day.

His friends condemned the act against the groom, who was described as a God-fearing and prayer warrior set to be elevated to a pastor in his church.

His postmortem is scheduled for Monday, August 28, at the Kenyatta University funeral home. Family and friends are hopeful that the autopsy will clear the controversies regarding his death and help determine the cause of death.

Police have yet to release a statement on the case. Neither has his family or bride.
