Killers of Woman Who Was Found 9 Months After Death Revealed

The death of Njeri Wanjiru, a 86-year-old woman from Thika, has baffled the police and the public alike. Njeri was found dead in her home on August 9, 2023, after her neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from her compound.

However, detectives believe that she had been dead for several months, as her body was in an advanced state of decomposition.

According to reports, Njeri lived alone in her home, which was not frequented by anyone. She had no children or relatives who visited her regularly. She only had some chickens and dogs, which she kept as pets. The police found that the animals had also died and decomposed in the compound.

The police suspect that Njeri was murdered by someone who knew her well and had access to her home. According to the police, the suspect (s) of the alleged murder might have known that the home was not frequented and thus went ahead to execute their plan confident knowing what will result.

“If you analyse the whole situation and put into the context her age and what we found out there – the over 20 chickens and her dogs had decomposed- you can rightly say whoever did this planned to kill her.

It is highly likely that whoever killed her by poisoning or by whatever means was well known to her and knew very well that place is not frequented by people so it was not easy for the body to be discovered soon,” the detectives said.

The police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and help them solve the murder mystery. They are also conducting a post-mortem examination on Njeri’s body to establish the cause and time of death.
