Government Introduces Mandatory NYS Training For All Students

The government has indicated that all students will undergo a mandatory one year NYS training (broken into 3 and 9 months) for all students.

This is according to recommendations made by the Presidential Working Party on Education Reform.

According to the new rule, the government will ntroduce a mandatory three (3) months community service programme forgraduates of Senior School before joining Tertiary institutions.

A further nine (9) months of mandatory community service after completion of Tertiary education.

There will be a certificate of compliance to the community service to be issued as proof before admission into the world of work.
