CJ Koome Breaks Silence After This Incident

The Chief Justice Martha Koome has condemned police officers over what happened in Milimani court today. She is clear that, harassment of journalist at the precincts of Parliament is regrettable and it’s totally unacceptable.

The Judiciary has affirmed that police officers must not Invade court rooms to intimidate lawyers for that’s totally unacceptable.

The Chief Justice Martha Koome has dismissed the allegations that the Judiciary has been taken over by police officers. It’s clear that, the issue of Police officers turning Kenya into a police state has been on the rise.

The Chief Justice Martha Koome has however not been able to explain of why a judge was forced to hear Babu Owino’s case at night. It’s also clear that Babu Owino and others were forced to stay in police custody beyond the stipulated hours something that has raised questions around the independence of the Judiciary.

Martha Koome has dismissed the allegations that Judiciary has been captured by the state. She is firm that, the independence of the Judiciary will forever remain for it’s the only one that can provide Justice to the victims of the state.
