Raila’s Tomorrow Protests Suffers a Major Setback.

After breaking his silence on the issue, Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi dealt a big blow to the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp, which was planning a mass action against President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza government on Wednesday.

The Deputy Governor said that it is not the time to politicise the situation and produce mayhem since demonstrations will result in investors fleeing the nation, and the economy of the country is still in its latter stages of decline.

Mwangangi made a passionate plea for peaceful resolutions to the problems plaguing Kenya’s politics, arguing that the demonstrations being staged by the opposition will not lead to anything that may make Kenyans feel good about their nation.

He continued by stating that he was in favour of the restart of the bipartisan negotiations and that the country requires peace and stability rather than demonstrations that will interfere with day-to-day activity.

Mwangangi insisted that demonstrators ought to utilise their constitutional right to picket and protest peacefully and without weapons, despite the fact that he stated that doing so is everyone’s constitutional right.

Mwangangi, on the other hand, lent credence to Azimio’s assertions that the Finance Act 2023 contains unfavourable ideas that will lead to an increase in the cost of living and that the president ought to examine these suggestions, particularly the one that would raise the value-added tax on fuel from 8% to 16%.

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti stated that she has no plans to join the Azimio demonstrations. She made this statement after accompanying Kalonzo to Utawala on Sunday for a church service. Ndeti explained that she is now focused on delivering her promises to the inhabitants of Machakos.

On Friday, The Wiper chairman led locals of Kathiani and a part of other Wiper leaders in a meeting called ‘Saba Saba’ at Kathiani market. Meanwhile, Raila led a meeting and protest in Nairobi at Kamukunji Grounds.
