HEADACHE FOR RUTO AS ONLY 2 MPs ARE SUPPORTING FINANCE BILL

Hours after finance committee chair Kuria Kimani who doubles as Molo member of parliament tabled the proposed finance bill in the parliament, Ruto has been dealt with a fresh hurdle as per the latest reports.

As relayed by a report covered on Wednesday’s Standard publication, Ruto’s bill is being opposed by Westen kenya MPs as it is emerges that only two out of eleven are supporting it.

The thirteen lawmakers are from Kakamega county and in between them, those affiliated to Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza are as well opposed to the bill.

According to the report, Fred Ikana and Malulu injendi alongside Bungoma senator Dr Boni Khalwale are in support of the bill.

On the other side, women rep Elsie Muhanda, Titus Khamala, Peter Silasya, Innocent Mugabe ,Nabii Nabwera among others have vowed to vote against it.

Apparently, this is a huge blow to William Ruto who week ago had promised those who will vote in favor of the bill some goodies.

The head of state is as well receiving backlash from Raila Odinga’s led Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition which is planning to stage mass action demonstrations should the bill sail through the parliament.

It should be noted that Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government has more lawmakers opposed to Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition whose seven MPs were suspended from parliament sessions by national assembly speaker Moses Wetangula.
