IEBC CHAIR REVEALES AMOUNT THEY WERE GIVEN TO OVERTURN RESULTS.

In an interview with Jeff Koinange, Issack Hassan who is a former IEBC Chair revealed that the report from investigating team that was released after elections showed that about ksh 50 million was poured out to overturn the outcome of the 2013 General Elections that declare Uhuru Kenyatta as the president.

He added that he was not aware or a beneficiary of the alleged 50 million bribe despite being accused of corruption.

“I did not get any chicken from the chicken gate. It was very unfortunate for me that I became the face of the chicken gate in Kenya. They used the name chicken as a code word for a bribe.

The sad thing is that according to the investigations and the report we have, they paid over 50 million shillings as bribes and I got nothing from it” Issack Hassan told Jeff Koinange in JK Live show.

Issack Hassan was accused of being partisan to Uhuru and accepting a bribe of Ksh 20 Million. He said that this made him record a lot of anecdotes.

He also alluded that some people even spread rumours that he was found wearing a buibui going to South Sudan and trying to hide the dollars under the buibui.

Hassan further recalled the killing of Msando during the election period and the effect it had on IEBC officials. He revealed that he was saddened by the incident because Msando died without engaging with him concerning his work. The killing also sent panic to the rest of the workers that they will face the same fate if they “mess up”.

“I never got the chance to engage with or see Chris Msando’s work. I was very saddened after we learnt that he may have been blocked by some guys who then took over his vehicle. It sent a very big message to the staff and the commissioners that if you mess up this will happen to you”
