FORMER PRESIDENT UHURU KICKED OUT OF KICC

Hours after former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee party faction were smartly denied venue at Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) to hold their National Delegates Convention, Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA), Robert Alai, has stepped forward to offer his support.

Alai’s proposal comes after the party allegedly received a letter dated May 12, 2023, from Bomas of Kenya, denying them space to hold their NDC. In the letter, the Bomas management said the venue would not be available since it would be closed for repairs from May 16, for eight weeks.

But Alai has expressed his willingness to assist Uhuru and Jubilee saying he is ready to host the Jubilee meeting at Waruku.

“If Bomas is denying them the venue, I want to host the Jubilee NDC in Waruku.” stated Alai

The letter, addressed to acting executive director Polycarp Hinga, mentioned that Bomas’ main auditorium, which has a capacity of 2,000 people, is scheduled for renovation from May 16, 2023, for a period of eight weeks.

It further stated that all other spaces within Bomas are fully booked in the upcoming days. Consequently, Bomas expressed regret at their inability to accommodate the Jubilee party’s NDC on May 22, 2023.

Additionally, the Kileleshwa MCA suggested that the “men in black” should provide protection for the Jubilee party, led by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, to safeguard them from individuals attempting to seize control.

“So Kanini Kega is the one stressing a whole former President? Does he understand political operations? Men in Black must take over to protect Jubilee from grabbers.” Alai added,

The former ruling party has been plagued by leadership disputes since the beginning of this year. A section of members allied to the Eala legislator Kanini Kega, who is jostling for the Secretary-General position with former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni have however opposed the scheduled NDC arguing that the NEC meeting was illegal.
