CS KINDIKI NEARLY ASSASSINATED.

An assassination plot against Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, according to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, was allegedly hatched on May 10—the day before former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati revealed the election results.

Speaking at the For The Record book launch, Defence CS Aden Duale’s author Gachagua claimed that on August 14, 2022, President William Ruto’s top election operative would be deposed.

He asserted that the conspiracy was a component of strategies intended to thwart Ruto’s rise to power. The DP avoided saying who was responsible for the plot and avoided saying if Kindiki reported it to the police.

“A man who, I don’t know whether he will write in his book that he was almost assassinated on August 14 is today’s Minister of Interior – Professor Kithure Kindiki,” he said.

Gachagua, on the other hand, noted that many of their allies were also offered money to quit Ruto before the elections, a strategy that proved ineffective.

“What Kindiki mentioned about us not caring about money is correct. These people would be billionaires if they had accepted monetary offers. Money was offered left, right, and center for Ruto’s betrayal, but great men said no,” he explained.

Notably, Kindiki had steered clear of the claims during his speech before Duale took to the podium. Ruto also did not comment on the matter and congratulated his allies for being loyal to him despite efforts to scuttle his presidential bid.
