BOLD UDA SENATOR JOINS AZIMIO

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale today has sided with the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya wing on the new finance bill proposed by President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza wing.

Speaking during an interview at a famous media house today morning, senator Khalwale faulted the new finance bill as he made his stance on the bill public, saying that the country can not tax it’s citizens into prosperity.

“Trying to tax a country into prosperity is like asking someone to stand in a bucket and lift himself. It is impossible,” Khalwale said.

The senator said that the government should instead learn from other international practices from prosperous countries.

He argued that Kenya has a huge market for their own goods yet relies on goods manufactured in other countries.

He also faulted a move that Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria announce yesterday, that Kenya will export 700, 000 cows to Indonesia every year.

Khalwale said that instead of exporting the cows, the country should exploit the resources to produce their own goods and sell to its vast populated customers.

Khalwale also claimed that their is a possible waste of resources in government especially by the top government officials.

He said that some top guns in government have been wasting money from the economy and to make it worse, they go and invest the money abroad.

“The bigger way of wasting is where the Tom-cuts in government, they just sniff the money out of the economy. After they are given bigger projects and paid, they go and invest the money abroad,” Khalwale said.

Khalwale’s move to take his stance on the proposed bill comes few days after Azimio leader Raila Odinga directed MPs allied to his coalition to vote against the Finance Bill 2023, saying it is a piece of punishment that Kenyans should be deeply concerned about.
