NEW ELECTRICITY PRICES, EFFECTIVE FROM TODAY

The Kenyan Government increased the price of power in the recently formalized pricing schedule for electricity.

Today, April 11, 2023, the Kenyan government announced an increase in the price of electricity of Ksh 4.52 per unit. This announcement was made through the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

Kenyan citizens will now be expected to pay Ksh 12.22 per unit in April, up from Ksh 7.70 per unit, according to a government announcement.

Kenyan people would now have to pay Ksh 1,220 for 100 units of power, up from Ksh 770, according to information released by the Kenyan government.

The newly institutionalized electricity prices will go into effect today, April 11, 2023, and will be in effect for the entire month of April in 2023. This was announced by the Kenyan government.
