YVONNE OKWARA LANDS ON A NEW JOB.

Citizen TV Senior News Anchor and Business Editor, Yvonne Okwara,  was on Monday, April 3 appointed to the board of Enactus Kenya.

The non-governmental organisation (NGO) confirmed that Okwara would serve as a chair of its advisory council for a four-year term.

“Please join us in welcoming Yvonne Okwara, the new Chair of Enactus Kenya Business Advisory Council. Welcome Yvonne Okwara to the Enactus, we all win team!” Enactus wrote.

Okwara accepted the appointment and affirmed that she was ready for the new challenge, as she was already a member of the NGO since 2017.

“Indeed, the impact that Enactus has had in upskilling youth and providing space for their innovative ideas is immense. Young people have passion, drive, and talent.

“I am excited to work with Enactus, faculty members, and students to build their innovations and high-impact sustainable social enterprises to the market,” she stated.

Her new role was celebrated by veteran journalist John Allan Namu and former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyn Alombe among others.

“Congratulations, Yvonne. Investing in our young women and men is where we can make a difference. Proud of you as always!” Akombe wrote.

Enactus is a dynamic community of entrepreneurial action leaders. The organization exposes students to real-life experiences through community outreach projects and annual business competitions.

Operating in the country for 14 years, it creates partnerships between business and higher education and equips students with innovative ideas that attract investment.

Okwara’s 15-year career in the media industry and the experience she amassed as a professional will be a boost in realising her objectives.

She joined the media industry in 2008 as a content producer at NTV. The journalist then moved KTN News as a Senior News Anchor and Head of News Strategy before she joined Citizen TV  in 2018.
