PETER KALUMA MEMBER OF LGBTQ?

Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has vowed not to relent in his quest to criminalise the promotion of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community in Kenya.

Kaluma, who has since issued a notice of motion in Parliament against the agenda, argued that, as enshrined in Article 45 of the Constitution, only people of the opposite gender can marry.

Speaking to journalists, the lawmaker regretfully recounted how a man approached him for romance during his recent visit to a foreign country.

The ODM MP said the man complimented him, saying he looked “nicely round”.

“I was a short while in a foreign country and you can imagine being approached by a fellow man asking me to go out and sleep with me. The guy had the audacity to tell me that I look nicely round. What level of perversion is that?” Kaluma paused.

The legislator has he had been receiving threats since he proposed the motion to criminalise LGBTQ advancement.

He, however, insisted that he was unmoved.

“I challenge them to study my history on matters concerning the family. We brought down the slayqueens the other day. Kaluma brought the marriage act, which consolidated all marriage laws. Don’t call me to say I will not go to your country. What do we lack in Kenya? You can cancel your visa. If this is what will make Kenya poor, I don’t think Uganda is any poorer having passed it,” he added.
