HOW TO CHECK YOUR ID NO HAS NOT BEEN ILLEGALLY USED IN SIM CARD REGISTRATION.

Kenyans have less than one day left before the deadline for SIM Card registration lapses on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

According to a directive issued by the Communications Authority of Kenya on April 14 this year, the process of registration concludes on October 15th, 2022 after which the authority warned of regulatory measures including shutdown for non-registered members.

The previous deadline for SIM registration had been set for April 15th but it was extended by another six months to allow network operators and subscribers enough time for compliance.

The Communications Authority informs that the primary objective of the process is to protect consumers of telecommunication services since all the service operators will retain a copy of the identification documents of every subscriber.

To protect you from the vulnerability of your identification details being used to commit crime, mobile service providers including Safaricom and Airtel have provided a solution for you to confirm phone numbers registered using your ID.

You can access it through *106#. This USSD menu allows you to:

  1. Check your numbers alongside the credentials used to register it.
  2. Report unknown numbers associated with your ID.
  3. Cancel any reported numbers.
