CHEBUKATI TO FIRE THE 4 IEBC COMMISSIONERS TODAY.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) workforce is anxious as chairman Wafula Chebukati and two other commissioners prepare to depart the organization on Monday due to internal strife.

The People Daily was informed by sources that Chebukati would begin his or her terminal vacation on October 17 and conclude it on January 17.

However, some government insiders want him to stay on the team so they have time to fire the four commissioners who contested the outcome of the presidential election on August 9.

Chebukati and the four commissioners had a disagreement while the poll was being conducted, and his deputy Juliana Cherera accused him of not consulting them on crucial issues impacting the election.

The four subsequently said that they would not accept the results that Chebukati had declared William Ruto the victor in the presidential contest.

According to reliable sources, some of President Ruto’s allies are pressing for the parliamentary ouster of Cherera, Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi, and Irene Masit.

The four are scheduled to hold their positions until September 2026, barring removal.

According to information provided to The People Daily, a group of representatives is drafting a notice of motion to debate the issue on the House floor before Chebukati formally departs.

Along with him, commissioners Abdi Yakub Guliye and Boya Molu will be stepping down after serving the full six years of their non-renewable terms on the panel.
