RAILA ODINGA ABANDONED BY HIS CLOSEST SUPPORTERS

It is indeed not a good day to Raila Amollo Odinga. Residents of Bondo town, where Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja One in Kenya, resides, have urged President-elect William Ruto’s administration not to ignore the area.

A few kilometres separate Bondo town from Raila’s residence in Opoda. Locals declared they were prepared to cooperate with the new government and there were no protests or celebrations in the town.

They said that Ruto is now their president and that their only option is to put up with his rule.

The President-elect was asked to bring the nation together by boda boda driver Benard Obiero.

We have accepted the result, and I am pleading with youth to uphold peace. In 2027, we’ll have another opportunity to decide on the ballot, Mr. Obiero remarked.

Beatrice Akinyi, a vendor at the Migingo market, expressed disappointment with the course of events, and Caroline Agwel, a 56-year-old vendor, urged the young people to work hard to make ends meet.

Despite the Supreme Court’s refusal to decide in Raila’s favour, Ms. Agwel stated all was not lost.

We respect Raila for continuing to be our leader. The Luo community will eventually elect a leader to succeed Raila, according to Ms. Agwel, who began voting during the one-party State.

David Alao, a different resident, urged the new administration to think about getting rid of the Competency Based Curriculum because it was costly.

Mr. Alao stated, “Let the incoming president examine some of the ideas that Mr. Odinga had, like Baba Care and also provide employment for the youth,” as he urged the youth to maintain peace.
