WILLIAM RUTO’S SHOCKING NEW STATEMENT

Deputy President William Ruto’s recent political eruptions have not gone unnoticed, not only in Kenya but across the continent, as he embarks on his ambitious political journey.

On the day he was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to run for president in the general election on August 9, the DP launched a stinging attack against the local media, claiming that it was biased against him.

According to the DP, the media was providing Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja with fair and favorable coverage.

In subsequent sessions, the DP unleashed a further blistering attack against state institutions and the so-called “deep state” for supposedly sabotaging his presidential bid and supporting the former prime minister.

At one point, the DP asserted that the deep state does not exist, expressing confidence that he would defeat Raila decisively on August 9.

Ruto’s recent political pronouncements, particularly his attacks on the media, have not gone unnoticed by the leading African media outlets.

The New African Report, a popular publication that focuses on African politics and governance, has published an article about how the DP’s brazen attacks on independent entities could derail his presidential campaign.

According to the media outlet, it would be preferable for the DP to avoid unnecessary conflicts with the media and governmental institutions.

According to a recent assessment by the Media Council of Kenya, Raila garnered more media coverage than Ruto during his campaigns. Nonetheless, the DP should not use this to excuse his attacks on the nation’s journalists.
