JUNET MOHAMMED EXPLAINS WHAT WILL HAPPEN BETWEEN ODM AND JUBILEE

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party director of  elections Junet Mohamed says they  are likely to conduct joint  party  primaries under the Azimio La Umoja  coalition.

Junet who spoke in Migori on Sunday said  their  cordial relationship  with the Jubilee Party  shall be extended into long term political agreements.

“We are partnering with Jubilee for sure, we are going to form a coalition for the 2022 elections and we will come up with mechanisms to do nominations together now that we are partners,” said Mohamed.

The Suna East member of parliament  added that they are yet  to sign a pact with the Jubilee  party ahead of the party primaries to ensure that they champion for a common cause.

“Now that we are partners, we will be doing things together whether it is nominations, politics… anything that is good for the country we will do together,” he stated.

Just last week, Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju while on a  voter  mobilization exercise  in Migori  said that they have  formed a committee to  work on the terms of engagement   between ODM and Jubilee.

Tuju  added  that they are in the final stages of  finalizing the coalition talks, saying  they are  taking their time to limit teething problems.
