Apart from convincing a few leaders to join his Tangatanga faction since the formation of the United Democratic Alliance party, the deputy president has also lost afew other vocal leaders who could have added numbers to his 2022 basket.

After months of speculations and silence, a vocal western Kenya Member of Parliament has come forward and set the records straight on his relationship with the deputy president William Ruto. The member of Parliament representing residents of Malava Constituency in Kakamega county has officially announced his defection from the Ruto camp to join what he termed as his ‘home party’.

Speaking to Nation Africa, honourable Malulu Injendi who is looking forward to retain his parliament seat come next year said that he has thrown his full weight behind Musalia Mudavadi’s presidential bid. ” From now on, am nolonger a Tangatanga nor Ruto follower. Though we shall remain friends with the DP, I have no political plans with him,” he said.

Malulu has been one of the biggest supporters of the DP from Western Kenya. At one point, he defected to ODM but later returned to UDA after the DP made an emergency visit at his home in Malava and managed to win him back. Since then, Malulu has been silent.
