DP WILLIAM RUTO DELIVERS TOUGH MESSAGE TO HIS COMPETITORS

Deputy President William Ruto has urged his competitors to center on selling their agenda rather than looking for shortcuts to ascend to power.

DP Ruto said that busybodies were meddling with the operations of independent institutions in the country for political gains.

The deputy president stated that Kenyans were after a leader with progressive ideas that will better their lives instead of being dictated on whom to support.

“Mtu anapata kura elfu ishirini unashangaa kwa nini amepata. Nataka niwaombee watu wa Samburu, kila mtu apigiwe kura kwa kazi amefanya,” Ruto said.

He further asked Kenyans to avoid regional political parties whose main focus is to divide the country.

“Let us all rally behind solid political parties that are centered on the issues of the people,” he said.

The DP was speaking on Tuesday at his Karen Residence where he met political and religious leaders from Samburu and Kajiado counties.

He noted that national parties like his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) would accommodate all Kenyans notwithstanding their backgrounds.

“The UDA manifesto has elaborate plans for all Kenyans; its key goal is to empower millions of ordinary Kenyans struggling to put food on the table.”

DP Ruto said it was regrettable that five decades after independence, Kenyans in some parts of the country are still dying of hunger.

“That is why we are promoting a radical shift in our economic approach to facilitate uniform development across Kenya,” he explained.

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of taking development to his Nyanza backyard, forgetting other regions that backed him like Coast, Western and Eastern.

“Alikuwa anasema hasaidii watu sababu ako nje ya serikali. Siku ameingia handshake akachukua barabara yote amepeleke kwao,” he said.

Bahati lawmaker Kimani Ngunjiri on his side termed the Ksh.6,000 token promised by Odinga as a cheap bait that cannot fly.

“Kenyans want a sustainable economic approach that will create jobs and expand their enterprises. Not handouts,” said the Bahati MP.

Kajiado West legislator George Sunkuyia attacked Jubilee Party saying it was a dead party and the only hope for the people of Kajiado and Narok is UDA.

On her part, Kandara MP Alice Wahome said that Ruto remains the only presidential candidate of choice for the Mt. Kenya region.
