POPULAR GOVERNOR’S DAUGHTER IS DEAD.

The family of the first Governor of Kisumu County Jack Ranguma is in mourning.
Sonia Hawi Ranguma, their eldest daughter died suddenly yesterday.

Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o described the death of Sonia as “a tragic loss to the whole Ranguma family and the people of Kisumu.”
“Sonia was a very focused, disciplined and professional lady. On behalf of the people of Kisumu I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to the Ranguma family,” Nyong’o added.

Odhiambo Otieno, Press Secretary at Ida Odinga Trust writes that yesterday just hours before Sonia’s passing, he had an interview with Mama Ida when he asked her about lowest moment in life.

“I saw tears come to her eyes as she recalled the late Fidel Odinga. She said; ‘Fidel was my First Born, the only child who understood me’”

Kenyans on social media have sent messages of condolences to the Ranguma family.

“Mama Olivia Ranguma, take heart during this trying time,” writes Kevin Wahonya. “May the almighty comfort you and the entire beautiful family that you have.”

Ous Ka’Ngala writes: “My heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, relatives and the people of Kisumo Kano…So painful to lose such a young, industrious and energetic lady this early in life.”
