DP RUTO REVEALS AMOUNT OF SHARES HE OWNS AT SAFARICOM

Deputy President William Ruto is a shareholder at Safaricom and Kenya Airways. This has been revealed by the deputy president in response to a leakage on the number of properties he owns. According to the DP, he holds a stake at Safaricom amounting to 400,000 shares. At Kenya Airways, he owns 80,000 shares.

At the current price of Sh. 42, his shares at Safaricom are worth Sh. 17 million. His stake at Kenya Airways is worth Sh. 306,000 at the current retail price of Sh. 3.83 per share.

The DP further revealed that he rakes in Sh. 1.5 million from his chicken farming business. “They should have said that there are 200,000 chickens and I sell 150,000 eggs a day earning me Sh. 1.5 million,” said DP Ruto.

The deputy president said that much of what Matiang’i had revealed belongs to him but there were properties that he did not own, and which the minister had alleged he owned.
