Jalango Instagram: Popular comedian Jalang’o has revealed that in three months, he made some Sh. 1.8 million through his YouTube channel. Jalang’o further said that on his Instagram channel, he makes up to Sh. 3 million per month.

“YouTube sent us our first cheque in three months of Sh. 1.8 million from ad revenue,” Jalang’o said. He made these revelations in an interview with fellow YouTuber, Tonnie Murithi.

This means that in a good month, his social media channels including Facebook are generating in excess of Sh. 4.8 million.

His YouTube channel has over 200,000 subscribers while his Instagram platform has close to 2 million followers.

“The YouTube Partner Program lets creators monetize their content on YouTube. Creators can earn money from advertisements aired on their videos and from YouTube Premium subscribers watching their content. YouTube has a 45/55 per cent sharing formula which lets creators keep 55 per cent of revenue generated from their content,” a related report said.

Jalang’o’s Bonga na Jalas weekly shows on YouTube have become a major hit, attracting some of the biggest numbers among Kenyan YouTube content creators.

Jalang’o leverages on the platform to attract revenue from both advertisers and YouTube’s monetization program. On Instagram, his revenues are mainly generated from adverts and endorsements. Jalango Instagram.
