AUTOPSY REVEALS WHAT KILLED CAROLINE KANGOGO

Fallen police officer Caroline Kangogo died of a single gunshot wound on the head, chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor announced on Tuesday, July 27 at Iten Hospital morgue.

Oduro confirmed that she died by suicide after shooting herself through the chin, causing damage to her skull and brain. The pathologist added that Kangogo took her own life inside the bathroom at her parents home in Anin, Elgeyo Marakwet on Friday, July 16.

“The incident happened at the crime scene,” Oduor refuted murder allegations and that Kangogo’s body was transported to the bathroom after she was assassinated elsewhere.

Gun powder was also found on her fingers, with Oduor stating that the element will be subjected to more forensic analysis.DCI will also release a more conclusive ballistic report on the gun found at the crime scene. Kangogo will now be buried on Thursday, July 29, according to the family members.

The autopsy was postponed on Friday, July 23 after Oduor failed to show up. Kangogo’s father broke down outside the hospital lamenting that the delay was intentional.

“I want to bury my daughter. I do not have any problems with anyone. I just want my daughter’s body,” former police officer Barnaba Kibor complained. A correspondent in the area told Kenyans.co.ke that the pathologist was alerted at the last minute and could not travel in time.
