TRUTH FINALLY REVEALED ABOUT CAROLINE KANGOGO’S DEATH

A photo that has made rounds on social media alleging that the late Caroline Kangogo had surrendered to the authorities before she committed suicide, is fake.

In the photo which was forwarded to groups on Facebook, a woman donned in a yellow jumper and black pants could be seen accompanied by some individuals and talking to police officers.

The photo was captioned;” Caroline had handed herself to police moments before her body was discovered. Together with her brother she went to police as instructed by them.”

The photo had caused a confusion among some netizens baring in mind that Kangogo was also wearing a yellow jumper and black pants when she was found dead in her parents bathroom on Friday, July 16.

Kenyans.co.ke can, however, authoritatively report that the photo is not that of Kangogo and the brother, rather, it is an image posted on the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) Facebook page on July 5.

At the time, the commission had facilitated the rescue and evacuation of a 12-year-old girl who was gang raped by two men in Loosuk Division, in Samburu county.

Adongo Kyalo, a graphics designer stated that it is important to reverse search an image before peddling fake reports about it.

“One way is to reverse search an image to find out if any other version exists online, and if so, is the source verified or credible, and in what context was it used,” Adongo stated.

Efforts to reach Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya to issue more details on the matter did not bare fruit.

Currently, burial arrangements are ongoing at Kangogo’s parents home in Nyawa village, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The deceased is accused of killing two men, one in a police station in Nakuru County and another in Juja, Kiambu County in a period of two days.

In her suicide message, she revealed she travelled as far as Mombasa before meeting her end.
