MEET KENYAN SENATOR WHO DOES NOT OWN A CAR

Kenyan politicians are known to drive expensive cars that match their hefty salaries. It’s amusing to find out that in Kenya we have a senator who does not own any car. Even MCAs drive cars worth millions in Kenya.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala might be the only elected politician in Kenya not to have a personal car. When ODM party kicked him out of Deputy Minority Position, he was forced to hitch a lift to go home. This is because the car provided by government was repossesed immediately to be given to his successor. That’s when many found out that he had never bothered to buy a car after getting elected to the Senate in 2017.

Not to buying a car is definitely a personal choice for Malala. Aside from his salary, the legislator has Sh7 Million car grant at his disposal. Maybe a car does not rank high into his priority list.
