UKNOWN DETAIL ABOUT MAMA SARAH OBAMA

The world has joined Kenya in mourning Mama Sarah Obama who passed on yesterday morning 29th March 2021 while receiving treatment at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital. Mama Sarah Obama was largely known as grandmother to former US President Barack Obama.

While eulogizing Mama Sarah, President Obama said partly the reason he came into being was because of her. It’s her who encouraged Obama Snr to look for scholarships overseas. Obama Snr received scholarship to study at Hawaii University. It is while studying there that he met and married Barack Obama’s mother.

President Obama highlited little known detail about Mama Sarah Obama. Although she raised Obama Snr as her own son she was not the real birth mother. Mama Sarah Obama was the third wife to Hussein Onyango Obama. Hussein Onyango is the paternal grandfather to US President Barack Obama. Obama’s middle name is also Hussein.

Despite being step mother to Obama Snr, Mama Sarah cultivated a good relationship with Barack Obama. When young Barack visited the country to learn about his family, it is Mama Sarah who welcomed her to K’ogello. Mama Sarah also attended Obama’s inauguration as US President in January 2019.
