NMS TO DEMOLISH MACHAKOS COUNTRY BUS

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) plans to put up an ambitious multi-storey parking area to ease congestion in the city.

The NMS Director-General Mohamed Badi disclosed he had earmarked Machakos Country Bus Station among other termini, which would be converted to underground parking bays.

The parking bay, according to Badi, would increase the parking capacity, thus reducing traffic and human congestion that characterise most city parking areas.

“NMS has already initiated the process of developing underground parking at Sunken Park which will also happen at Machakos Bus Park. And all these underground parking areas will be digitally controlled,” he said.
