KISUMU BOYS TO BE DEMOLISHED

The school dates over 100 years back and is one of the ‘monuments’ of Kisumu town. But now it is set for demolition to pave way for the expansion of the lakeside city’s Central Business District.

Kisumu Boys High School dates back as early as during the construction of the Kenya-Uganda Railway. The school will be moved to a more rural district as the county government moves to transform the CBD.

The city administration says they ‘badly’ need the prime land for the construction of malls and commercial buildings, according to an article carried by the Standard

According to the new plan backed by the county government, the city management, and the Lake Front Development Corporation, the main bus terminus, Kisumu Girls, Manyatta Arabs School, the county referral hospital, and the Jua Kali market will also face the same fate.
