AWKWARD MOMENT UHURU, RUTO AND RAILA COME FACE TO FACE

President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga have for the first time in weeks shared a podium.

The two leaders, who their relationship has been deteriorating daily, on Monday, February 15, sat next to each other at the VIP dais at Gusii Stadium during the funeral service of former cabinet minister Simeon Nyachae.

Uhuru arrived at the venue at around 10.30am aboard his official Kenya Air Force chopper where he joined Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga who had come earlier.

A close look at Uhuru and Ruto showed an atmosphere of awkwardness and tension. The duo hardly looked at each other as it used to happen during their first term in office when they could whisper into each other’s ear and perhaps crack jokes whenever they shared a podium.

Close to Uhuru and Ruto, sat Raila, who does not see eye to eye with the second-in-command.
