RUTO ALLIES BLAST DCI BOSS GEORGE KINOTI.

Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have blasted Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti after his announcement on the reopening of 2007/2008 post-election violence cases.

Kinoti, on Monday, November 23, said the reopening of the cases was necessitated by several complaints from PEV victims who claimed they were being threatened and intimidated.

However, taking to their social media pages, Tanga Tanga politicians led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen read malice in the reviving of the cases.

On his part, Murkomen said the move to revive the cases was a desperate effort by the “system” to bring down the deputy president and weaken his political strength in the country.

“They want to incite violence against communities in R.Valley and especially Eldoret to weaken DP’s political strength in Mt.Kenya. They may even burn houses or kill people,” he said.

Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika also echoed similar sentiments and said “they” were trying to raise tensions in the country.

“Hope they don’t kill people, burn houses to justify Kinoti’s statements Kenyans. I‘d resist temptation to engage in violence and continue living in peace,” Kihika said.

Kikuyu Town MP Kimani Ichung’wa also aired his thoughts on the issue and said Kinoti was being used by “political brokers and conmen” to drive a wedge between communities while Senator Aaron Cheruiyot said the DCI director was using the victims to weave his unending political tales.

“Very shameful of Kinoti to weave his unending political tales using victims of 2007 PEV. He cannot claim to have the capacity to do a better job than KNHRC n Waki. GOK should activate those reports if they r genuine. Otherwise, this is the usual Kieleweke desperation,” Cheruiyot said.

The DCI boss vowed to expose all the perpetrators involved in the 2007/2008 mayhem that left 1,100 people killed.

He reaffirmed to the public that once the investigation into the matter is complete, the culprits will be charged locally and not in international courts as in the previous case.

The top sleuth further urged all victims and witnesses of the chaos to record their statements, saying they will go after the truth without fear.
