The President and Raila are scheduled to officially launch the collection of signatures at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

Last week, while slamming the door on the push for amendments to the document, Raila announced the start of collection of signatures, with a referendum tentatively set for April next year.

“We will be doing the launch of the signature collection sometimes next week.

We want that exercise to be done as soon as possible so that the matter can be handed over to the electoral commission, and then we can move towards the next phase of a referendum,” Raila stated.

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has been BBI’s biggest proponent. His house has become a key strategic planning point for ODM and anti Ruto members in Jubilee Coalition.

Ahead of BBI signature collection campaign which is slated to start on Thursday, Atwoli was in Western region to drum support for the document.

Atwoli told Western leaders that there is no fence sitting. They must support BBI and if they don’t support the document, they will make the Luhya Community be in opposition in 2022.
