Police disrupt Ruto’s meeting.

There’s high tensions in Nyamira County as hundreds of people have been dispersed by anti-riot police at Kebirigo High School. They had come to see DP Ruto and possibly get a wheelbarrow to take home.

Following yesterday’s directive by Head of Public Service, Joshua Kinyua, it is reported that Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba had banned the DP’s visit to the region which would have been the second meeting in recent times. The Deputy President was supposed to hold fundraising drive in Kebirigo and Miriri Schools for bodaboda operators. Challyh News is yet to confirm after the event has been disrupted if DP Ruto will secretly give his donation or he only gives at the full glare of cameras.

“Following an advisory by the National Security Council, Nyamira County commissioner Mr. Amos Mariba has with immediate effect suspended DP Ruto’s Nyamira tour which was scheduled on 8th October, 2020 for failing to notify and abide by the NSC guidelines,” a statement seen by Standard Digital reads.

According to reports reaching Challyh News, police officers stormed the venue of the meeting and ordered a band that was playing music to go dance elsewhere. They were categorical that no political campaign rally was going to be held in the area. Dejected band players would walk sadly away from the venue after their dream of owning a wheelbarrow had been crushed. Politicians in Kenya have messed the country so much that owning a wheelbarrow is now considered a luxury.

The National Security Advisory Committee led by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua had warned against such meetings saying they are being used to incite the youths. There was a need to cap the rising political temperatures brought by premature campaigns from leaders across both divide. Kinyua said that each individual will be liable for utterances made in his meeting.

Apparently referring to dynasty and hustler messages advanced by Ruto allies, Kinyua said such utterances may trigger discrimination on the basis of ethnic background, economic status, race, religion or associations.

It’s not clear what will be the next step for Ruto since the government seems to mean business about political campaigns. It’s assumed that Ruto will go back to Karen office where he will continue meeting hustler representatives from across the country.

Kenyans are waiting to see if the BBI rallies sloted to start anytime from now will also abide by the same rules that Ruto has been forced to play with.
