DP RUTO’S STERN MESSAGE TO CS MATIANG’I

It seems that DP Ruto has won the second duel against the Interior minister Dr Fred Matiang’i. A week ago, Ruto was denied to host an event in Nyamira County. This was after the police dispersed the crowd using teargas.

Ruto took to Twitter to address the matter. “After consultations with MPs Kemosi, Mose,Nyamoko, the bodaboda sacco and church leadership who had invited us, we have postponed the two functions in Nyamira County to Thursday next week,” he tweeted.

Ruto would go on to castigate the police for disrupting a peaceful meeting. “The disruptive dispersal by police of Kenyans engaged in economic empowerment is unnecessary,” the DP opined.

A few days later, Matiang’i would tour Nyamira County and what seemed as a direct message to DP Ruto, he called on him to stop premature campaigns.

“Some leaders have made it a habit to meet political delegations and hold gatherings in markets and other places to distract Kenyans from supporting the President with his national development agenda.

They tell you that the government, in which they serve, has failed you. This is wrong and amounts to sabotage,” he said in Nyamira County.

Dr Matiang’i added that instead of campaigning, the politicians could do better helping the president with his development agenda. “There is a time for everything. The time for politicking will come. It is now time to work, concentrate on development and serve Kenyans as per the mandate given by the electorate.” he said.

The deputy president arrived in pomp today in Kisii region and had no kind words for CS Matiang’i. Although it’s the police who dispersed the last meeting, he said that the Kenya Police were doing a commendable job.

DP Ruto added that, just like small business owners, police were hustlers too. According to DP Ruto, the people to blame is the bosses who order the police to teargas citizens. He said that they were some arrogant people in high positions who did not want to see the hustler nation empowered.

Ruto can be accused of many things but disrespecting the president publicly and verbally is not one of them. He always remains a loyal liutentant to the president when he’s addressing rallies. Today he thanked the Kisii community for voting in the jubilee government.

In a message seemingly aimed to Matiang’i in a show of who’s the boss, the DP said that he’s the one who together with President Uhuru Kenyatta gave Fred Matiang’i the CS position. It will be interesting to see how the CS will respond to this because in the past he has made it categorical that he has only one boss whom he reports to: Uhuru Kenyatta.
