Joho and Junet spend 20 Million to visit Raila in Dubai

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is in Dubai recovering following a successful minor surgery. Raila has thanked his fans and supporters for their goodwill messages. He has attributed his quick recovery to the good will messages. In a Twitter post by Winnie Odinga, Raila said “I want to thank all my friends, supporters and all our youth who have sent me so many messages of goodwill. It has just been amazing and wonderful. It makes me recover so fast.”

Today Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed felt that showing Raila Odinga love on Twitter is not enough. They decided to jet on a chartered plane to Dubai and hug their party leader as they gush over his health.

It might be more than affection that the duo want to convey. Reports reaching Challyh News suggest that BBI and the recent parliamentary appointments may be points of discussion during the trip. The anonymous source revealed things might not be rosy in the powerful party as Edwina Sifuna might want us to understand.

Some ODM members might be feeling that Jubilee is not sincere with the handshake. This follows a statement by David Murathe over cabinet appointments. He had been categorical that no further discussion about the parliamentary appointments would take place. Tensions cooled when Junet Mohammed and Kimunya the new majority leader met and agreed over the list. The agreed list might feature prominently during the Dubai visit.

While most people are concerned by the purpose of visit, some Kenyans have voiced concern over the monies being spent for the trip. One facebook user did the breakdown of the total sum to be spent. In her viral Facebook post she wrote:

“This is a Gulfstream jet, chartered byGov Joho and Junnet enroute Dubai to see Baba.Gulfstream jet Charges Kes 1.4 million per hour. From Nairobi to Dubai it is approximately 5 hours. Returning will be another 5 hours. So for a return flight these Niggas have paid a whopping Kes 14 million. On average a Luxury hotel in Dubai will cost 500k per night, two rooms will be 1 million and another 1 million for their entourage. So if they are going to stay for 3 days, they will cough atleast 6 million. These boys will therefore spend a minimum of kes 20 million for travel and stay, excluding entertainment and shopping.”

It is not clear who will be funding this trip. Most Kenyans are praying it won’t come from their pockets.
