Policeman confesses killing 13 people

What happens when the hand that is supposed to protect you becomes the hand that hits you repeatedly? What happens when the people who are supposed to protect us becomes the people we run from?

Families had to wait for over three decades to see justice delivered. Some feel rightly so that justice has not been served but they have got closure. To those who died waiting for justice, we pray for a kind life after where they could finally see the person who brought them so much pain be sentenced.

Joseph DeAngelo who has been nicknamed the Golden Killer has admitted to 13 murders in the US a deal with US prosecutors that saw him evade death sentence. Joseph also admitted to other crimes including rape and burglaries.

The former Vietnam veteran gripped the attention of the world in crimes that spanned a decade. The 74 year old serial killer is being charged with at least 13 murders, over 50 rape cases and over 100 burglaries committed 30-45 years ago in California.

Investigators used family tree to nab the killer. Though they had his DNA sample for years, they lacked a match and a popular genealogy site gave them a breakthrough.

Joseph DeAngelo is expected to be sentenced to a life in prison on August 2020.
