Speaking at a political gathering in Wamunyoro, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) legislator called on Gachagua's supporters to remain steadfast and resist attempts to divide the region.
Waweru specifically cautioned Gachagua against giving attention to some individuals like Democratic Party (DP) leadervJustin Muturi. He added that there are people who have been sent by the government to cause division in the opposition.
The Ol Kalou MP further said that although Gachagua was willing to work with other opposition leaders to advance their political ambitions, other factions should reciprocate by supporting his own political aspirations.
Waweru previously served as Gachagua's personal protocol officer and political adviser before the former deputy president's impeachment. He won the Ol Kalou parliamentary seat in a July by-election on a DCP ticket.
