Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared he is firmly committed to the 2027 presidential race, dismissing doubt surrounding his candidacy one day after sections of the crowd booed him at the Linda Mwananchi Movement's national secretariat launch in Nairobi.

Kalonzo had been speaking at a previous rally.

Speaking in Machakos on Saturday, October 31, during a house-opening ceremony for Senator Agnes Kavindu, Kalonzo addressed the heckling incident head-on and urged his supporters not to be distracted from the larger goal.

The Wiper leader turned inward, criticising leaders aligned with him for what he described as a weak show of solidarity at the Linda Mwananchi event. He noted that DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua arrived with a large, well-branded delegation while his own camp fell visibly short.

He urged his supporters to stop operating individually and move as a unified force, warning that political opportunities are never handed to anyone without effort: "You need to wake up and move as a team. You'll never be given anything on a silver platter."

Kalonzo ends speech abruptly after being heckled during Linda Mwananchi party launch: "Ama niwache"

The Wiper leader had been heckled at the Friday event after cautioning DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa against endorsing Linda Mwananchi's leader, Senator Edwin Sifuna's presidential ambitions, insisting the opposition's flag-bearer must be identified through the party's National Delegates Convention scheduled for November 13.

He also noted that Sifuna was only a party leader and not a presidential candidate, which drew chaos from the crowd, prompting the senator to intervene.

The former vice president also laid out his electoral preparedness plan, saying he would need 112,000 trusted agents positioned across every polling station in the country to safeguard the vote.

He challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election and separately criticised sections of the clergy for aligning with political interests rather than speaking against injustice and poor governance.

Meanwhile, Wiper Party spokesperson Ndegwa Njiru criticised Sifuna after Kalonzo was heckled at the Linda Mwananchi event in Nairobi.

Njiru stated that neither psychopathy nor mediocrity will propel Sifuna to the presidency and insisted that there must be mutual respect.

Nairobi Residents Urge Sakaja to Join ODM, Governor Asks Party Leadership to Heed Their Call

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has been urged to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after asking residents to choose the political party he should align himself with ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Sakaja put his political future to the crowd during the final memorial event in honour of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, held at Jacaranda Grounds in Nairobi.

The governor asked residents to choose between the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) and ODM, drawing enthusiastic responses from supporters of the different political outfits.

He reminded the gathering that Nairobi residents had elected him first as senator and later as governor despite their differing political affiliations, adding that even ODM supporters had backed his previous campaigns.

He then asked the crowd which party they wanted him to join, specifically seeking to know whether they preferred UDA, DCP or ODM.

When he asked how many wanted him to join ODM, sections of the crowd raised their hands and called on him to align himself with the opposition party.

Responding to the calls, Sakaja invoked the popular saying that the voice of the people is the voice of God and appeared to leave the decision open for further discussions with ODM leaders.

Although Sakaja did not announce a decision to leave his current political formation, the exchange offered a glimpse into the political choices facing the governor as the 2027 elections approach.

Beyond the question of party affiliation, Sakaja challenged ODM to preserve the values championed by Raila, particularly defending disadvantaged Kenyans, promoting social justice and rejecting tribal politics.

He said remembering the former prime minister should go beyond commemorating him and should involve speaking out whenever ordinary citizens face economic difficulties.

The governor also called for national cohesion, warning politicians against exploiting ethnic differences for political gain.

He maintained that Nairobi should remain a city where Kenyans from different communities can live, work and pursue opportunities without discrimination based on their backgrounds.

His remarks came as political alignments ahead of the 2027 General Election continue to attract attention, with the governor's exchange with Nairobi residents adding to speculation about his next political move.

Linda Mwananchi Confident of Defeating Ruto in 2027: “Supreme Court Tuliwachia Raila”

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has expressed confidence that the Linda Mwananchi Movement will defeat President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election without having to challenge the presidential results in court.

    Edwin Sifuna

Natembeya, who is leading the movement's presidential campaign, made the remarks during a political rally in Kwale County on Saturday, October 31, where he accompanied Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and other proposed party officials on a grassroots mobilisation tour.

Addressing supporters, the governor declared that the movement would secure victory at the ballot and would not need the Supreme Court to determine the outcome of the presidential election.

He claimed that the team would independently tally the votes before heading to State House in Nairobi, where they would wait for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to officially announce the winner.

Natembeya suggested that the movement had left the option of challenging presidential election results at the Supreme Court to the late ODM leader Raila Odinga.

He further declared that the days when presidential election victories were allegedly taken away through electoral malpractice were over, warning those planning to manipulate the 2027 results against attempting to do so.

During the engagement in Kinango area, Natembeya accused local political leaders of prioritising their personal interests while neglecting the challenges facing ordinary residents.

He questioned why some leaders were aligning themselves with Ruto's administration instead of addressing the difficulties experienced by the people they represent.

The governor urged residents to support the Linda Mwananchi Movement, arguing that the country needed leadership that prioritised ordinary citizens.

Natembeya's remarks came a day after the movement formally unveiled its headquarters and proposed national leadership in Lavington, Nairobi, on Friday, October 30.

Sifuna was proposed as the party leader, while Natembeya was named chairperson of its board of trustees and the presidential campaign.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga served up one of the more memorable moments of the week when video footage captured her dancing on top of a moving vehicle as her convoy made its way through city streets.

The clip, posted on TikTok on October 31, 2026, shows Wanga perched atop the vehicle, laughing, waving and throwing some enthusiastic moves as crowds of onlookers lined the route near roadside storefronts.

The energy in the footage was unmistakably electric, with the procession taking on the feel of a victory lap rather than a simple commute.

Wanga, one of the party's most prominent figures, arrived in style, riding the wave of excitement that had clearly gripped the convoy long before it reached the venue.

Adding a layer of symbolism to the moment, the governor wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the image of the late Raila Odinga, who served as ODM party leader until his passing.

Following Raila's death, leadership of the party passed to his elder brother, Oburu Oginga, who has since taken up the mantle.

The outdoor footage, filmed along what appears to be a busy urban street, captures the celebratory atmosphere of the political rally procession in full swing.

Wanga's willingness to abandon formality and simply revel in the moment resonated widely, with the clip spreading rapidly across social media platforms after it was posted.
